Back in July, Living Venture’s pan-Asian restaurant and bar, Australasia, launched a new sister venue, Sunset by Australasia. The relaxed terrace bar and stylish hideout is a ideal sipping spot thanks to a canopied, heated terrace and luxurious Pacific-inspired surroundings. Designed by Michelle Derbeyshire (Grand Pacific, Artisan), the space oozes Ibizan vibes… which is some achievement when you’re located just off Deansgate. Big sister restaurant and bar Australasia has a reputation for serving the best in sushi and seafood – and the Sunset menu follows suit, with menu inspired by Australian and Pacific Rim flavours. Highlights include ‘shabu’ broth style dishes served in hot granite bowls, Japanese ‘kakigori’ desserts with fresh fruit and shaved ice and sweet or savoury bento boxes. Cocktails are equally tropical – think Sunset Sangria, Pina Coladas and Frozen Pornstar Martinis.
