Did you know that the Midland Hotel has enjoyed at £14 million upgrade during lockdown? The city’s iconic railway hotel dating back to 1903 is Manchester’s most striking gothic landmark. Following its opening, the hotel quickly became a favourite of the rich and famous. It’s where Rolls met Royce, forming their landmark British company. It’s rumoured to have been Hitler’s dream home should he have succeeded in conquering the North – and it’s where Victoria and David Beckham went on their first date. More recently, the hotel has played host to party conferences, and to Michelin star chef Simon Rogan who oversaw the transformation of the Hotel’s historic French restaurant in 2013. And now it has an interior worthy of its shimmering exterior tilework following an Art Deco-inspired overhaul.

To celebrate the new look, we’re lucky enough to have an overnight stay in one of the hotel’s stunning new rooms up for grabs. The winner will enjoy breakfast and Afternoon Tea for two on the house. Widely regarded as the city’s ultimate afternoon tea (and that’s saying something) this grand celebration of Britishness includes handmade cakes, pastries, sandwiches, and selected teas and coffees. Competition closes at midnight on Friday 6 August. To be in with a chance of winning, simply fill in the form below. Terms and conditions apply.
