Michael Rosen’s Unexpected Twist arrives at The Lowry next month, bringing with it an unlikely reimagining of a Charles Dickens classic.
Adapted for the stage by BAFTA Award-winning playwright, Roy Williams, the production blends the iconic tale of Oliver Twist with a beatbox-inspired musical score by rising R&B star Yaya Bey and BAC Beatbox Academy’s Conrad Murray.
The performance merges the children’s classic with Shona’s story, whose class are studying the original book. Despite Shona’s best intentions, when she receives a new phone from a stranger, she begins to suspect something isn’t right with the new boys she’s met.
Unexpected Twist runs at The Lowry from Tue 2 May – Sun 7 May. To celebrate its arrival, we’ve got four tickets to give away to the Friday night showing at 7pm. All you have to do to be in with the chance of winning is fill in the form below.
