This is likely to be the only music festival this Summer that can boast a collision with an international sporting event, with Stage 1 of the Tour de France skirting round the edge of this picturesque Yorkshire shindig. But the chance to watch the tour pass does not constitute the full appeal of The King of the Mountains. Its location is as bombastic as its name suggests – nestled in the epic surroundings of the Yorkshire Dales. The festival boasts an impressive line-up of left-field names with live sets coming from To Kill A King and Sky Larkin, and a DJ set from Radio 1’s Huw Stephens. Other additions to the line-up include Dry The River, Postwar Glamour Girls, Cottonwoolf, Jacobean Ruff (pictured) and underground mischief-makers Alaska. Music aside, KOTM boasts comedy, local food and ale, children’s activities and, naturally, massive screens to watch the Tour on. Got a hankering for tight shorts and even tighter licks? Well, Manchester Wire is offering the opportunity for you to win a weekend pass for two. To be in with a chance of winning, send an email to competitions at manchesterwire dot co dot uk, with ‘King of the Mountains competition‘ as the subject line, and be sure to include your name, age, Twitter handle, phone number, plus the answer to the question below. The competition closes on Wednesday 25 June at midnight and the winner will be announced on Thursday 26 June.
