Manchester Beer Week will climax with a brand new covered outdoor beer festival – and you have a chance to get in for free. Pilcrow’s Summer Beer Thing is a three-day celebration of the UK’s bristling brewery scene, with plenty of international flavours thrown in for good measure. The makers of Indy Man Beer Con will take over Sadler’s Yard with a giant marquee, pouring over 200 beers by brewers from New Mills to Newcastle – and from California to Copenhagen. There’s are bars for pale ale admirers, hoppy beer hogs, fruit beer fans, and a bar by renowned Manchester brewers Cloudwater. And that’s before you get to the porters, imperial stouts and beers that defy categorisation. On hand to soak up the froth will be summer street food stalls offering pizza, burgers, Latin American wraps and Mexican burritos. Don’t forget to check out the DJs, talks and workshops – or just head to The Pilcrow itself, the Beer Thing’s indoor nerve centre with over a dozen special beers on tap. We have two sets of four Summer Beer Thing tickets up for grabs for a day of your choice. To be in with a chance of winning, just email competitions [at] manchesterwire [dot] co [dot] uk with a subject of ‘Pilcrow Competition’, adding your name, age, Twitter handle and phone number.
