FutureEverything is creeping up on us (read our top three recommendations) and if you’re still sitting on the fence, we’ve got a competition to push you over the edge. First up, we have tickets up for grabs for Alec Empire’s audiovisual live performance, entitled Low on Ice (Fri 27 Feb, RNCM Concert Hall, 8pm, more info). Empire (pictured) was a pivotal figure in the politicisation of early 1990s rave culture, and here he collaborates with Zan Lyons, laptop performer, violinist and video artist. What’s more, Tristan Perich has joined the bill, presenting Noise Patterns, a new composition of one-bit patterns of white noise. The second event is for the festival’s closing party (Sat 28 Feb, Soup Kitchen, 10.30pm, more info), presented by FutureEverything, Faktion and Annex Agency, taking place at RNCM and Soup Kitchen. They’re bringing you a selection of rhythm-based electronic arts from NTS host and producer Beatrice Dillon, DJ Nigga Fox (his first appearance in the UK), M.E.S.H. and grime guy Bloom. To win two tickets for Friday night, and another two for Saturday night (they’re separate competitions), simply send the answers these questions in an email to competitions at manchesterwire dot co dot uk with the subject line ‘FutureEverything competition’. Be sure to include your name, age, phone number and Twitter handle.

This competition is now closed.
