A new production from Papatango Prize-winning playwright Nkenna Akunna arrives at The Lowry later this week.
Cheeky Little Brown follows the story of Lady, a ‘determined sharp-tongued charmer’ and her estranged best friend, Gemma, as the pair reunite for the latter’s birthday.
Part musical, part failed night out, the coming-of-age show features original songs and examines a friendship between two Black women on diverging paths of self-love and acceptance.
