Mothers’ Ruin returns to its spiritual home at Contact, having recently spread out its cabaret tendrils out into the Roadhouse and The Royal Exchange. The crown princesses of queer cabaret are staging a raucous night of festive high camp, ringing in this most glittering of seasons in flamboyant fashion. Encompassing comedy, spoken word and Christmas carols, this advent extravaganza is hosted by comedian Debs Gatenby (pictured), who’ll be presenting a winter feast of gay talent including David Mills, Cheryl Dole, Pam Van-Damned and Sheela Blige – who’ll be bringing her bingo balls with her. Fun, challenging and raucous, this is one Winter LOLstice that should not be missed.
