South Mancunians celebrate having made it through the winter to the shortest day with a super swag of music and hot mulled wine on Chorlton Green this Saturday. The fun starts at 4pm with music from Chorlton Children’s Choir (expect takes everything from Elbow to Elgar – this is Chorlton after all) plus the Chorlton (adult) Choir and Bluegrass inspired act, Bo Weavil. The Horse and Jockey pub is behind the day’s larks, and they’re laying on ‘a North Pole backdrop’, with a visit promised from Santa and his real life reindeer, plus funfair rides. Over at the Spoon Inn, guests can cosy up with live music and DJs all day. Live acts include Mat Gray, Extra Love and Aidan Smith. There will be a record fair and art sale in the back room too.
