First Street will be transformed into a boreal dreamscape this winter as it looks set to host Manchester’s newest Christmas attraction. The Lodge or, more specifically, a 150-capacity nordic tipi, will be the venue for all sorts of wholesome festive fun. There will be a range of Noridc-inspired craft beer, and a selection of cuisines including the star attraction: the unique Yorkshire-pudding wrap (something that is sure to keep you warm this winter). The event kicks off on Thu 31 Oct, with a spooky Halloween yoga session to be followed by a general launch party. There will be a whole range of different activities – some family focused and some less so – including ABBA and reggae yoga sessions, as well as bike surgery repair shops and pilates sessions. What makes this event truly unique, helping it to stand out among the noise of other Christmas events, is that The Lodge promises, as the creative and place director at CBRE John McHugh said, to showcase local talent, making The Lodge a ‘hyper-local’ event as it draws upon Mancunian grass-root cultural organisations.
