With the weather being so lovely recently, you couldn’t blame us for getting that summer feeling. Summer in Manchester usually means endless days of sun, beer gardens and festivals and the city and its surrounding area proudly plays host to many a fezzie year after year – from Parklife, Sounds of the City, Dot to Dot and many others. But with the current unprecedented situation, many festivals have unfortunately been cancelled, rescheduled for later dates or are facing uncertainty. We know this is disappointing for all and as we don’t want you to miss out on your music fix, we’ve put together a special mixtape. ManchesterWire – Manchester Festivals is a 3 hour playlist packed with acts that were due to play those 2020 festivals that are sadly no more. From legendary headliners like Björk, Hot Chip and Tyler, the Creator – to local talent Witch Fever, Pale Waves and Grotbags – there’s a bit of something for everyone. So while we all enjoy the sun from our gardens, yardens and door steps – hit play, turn it up and enjoy the music.
