‘The Game’ is an established exhibition at the NFM, and thus far it has solely featured the photography of Stuart Roy Clarke. However, the scope is being broadened to include the work of six female photographers who love ‘the beautiful game’. Showcased is Hy Money, the first woman to break through the ranks to document the sport; and Victoria Haydn, the current senior club photographer for Manchester City. The work of Amy Drucquer, co-founder of the online community ‘This Fan Girl’, captures the swelling ranks of female footie fans across the country. Looking beyond our shores, Adrienn Csepelyi and Jessica Hilltout explore the sport in Eastern Europe and Africa, respectively. Completing the line-up is University of Salford graduate Abbie Jennings – the winner of last year’s Redeye Talent Award. A dynamic exhibit, ‘The Game’ will grow and change further over the coming year.
