The true meaning of Christmas has been lost in the last few years, with people looking towards what advert will define their year, putting their faith in a cover of a Keane song and a hare that has no times for the laws of nature when a fancy tree is involved. But the true meaning can of course be found in the humble Christmas movie. Recent offerings to the art of the Christmas have left most feeling hollow so Odd in the Northern Quarter has attempted to redress the balance with a day-long marathon of films all about the festive period. It has lined up four of their favourites (It’s A Wonderful Life, Home Alone, Muppet Christmas Carol and Die Hard) as well as a fifth film to be voted for on the facebook event page. So what’s your pick? Elf, Scrooged or Santa with Muscles starring Hulk Hogan? Probably the third one. Whatever you the choice, enjoy a host of merry movies with some mulled wine and mince pies in the comfort of a warm bar.
