Nottingham based singer-songwriter Yazmin Lacey has been honing her craft tightly with her band over the past couple of years, establishing their own label in the form of Running Circle. Her Black Moon EP put her firmly on the UK jazz/soul map, following her time on Gilles Peterson’s Future Bubblers mentorship scheme. First Word Records, home to soul duo Children Of Zeus  (swiftly garnering global fame), have announced they will be releasing her next musical outpouring, the single 90 Degrees.  Catch her highly distinctive voice in the intimate back room of The Castle this Wednesday. Support comes from driven young Manchester artist Shoa, who has warm-up slots for Jagged Edge with 112, Faith Evans and SWV under her belt.

Wed 28 Mar, The Castle Hotel, 66 Oldham Street, Northern Quarter, Manchester, M4 1LE. Tel: 0161 237 9485, 8pm, £8, ticket line.co.uk
