A new experimental circus show that celebrates the ideas too peculiar to come to fruition heads to Lowry this October.
Yes Person, which lands at Lowry Thu 8 Oct as part of a limited run, is inspired by the concept of ‘killing one’s darlings’, the creative process of discarding beloved but unfit ideas.
Described as ‘new wave circus’, the show blends comedy and impressive physical feats, offering these left-behind ideas, ones deemed too mismatched, ambitious or nonsensical, a second chance to flourish, expand and spiral out of control on stage.
Yes Person comes from Berlin-based collective, Based on Kimberley, in collaboration with Helsinki’s Cirko – Center for New Circus. Audiences can expect an hour of authentically devised performance packed with a variety of funky circus disciplines and inventive, at times bizarre, action.
