Celebrated Zimbabwean afro-fusionists Mokoomba are Band On The Wall-bound for a night of vibrant Zimrock on an extensive European tour. The dancefloor fillers will return once again to Swan Street with new release ‘Luyando’ under their belts. Frequently looked upon as one of Zimbabwe’s finest musical exports, their work is strongly linked to life and traditions back home in Victoria Falls, a town on the Zambezi River. Getting started on the music scene just over a decade ago, their blend of traditional Tonga rhythms and energetic funk soon found fans into the UK with the release of sophomore album ‘Rising Tide’, backed up with an electrifying appearance on Later… With Jools Holland. The latest album sees the band strip back for a raw, acoustic offering, whilst preserving their joyous and energetic musicianship. Support for their latest appearance in Manchester will come from melodic and hypnotic kora master Jali Nyonkoling Kuyateh.
