Kendal’s international festival of street arts, Mintfest, will once again bring the Cumbrian town to life at the end of the month as it returns for its seventh year. Featuring performers from across the world, the annual celebration will fill Kendal’s streets with comedians, dancers, magicians, acrobats and circus performers to entertain revellers with their extraordinary and unique talents. Featuring over 60 performances across the weekend, highlights this year include Bad Taste Company’s explosive 1920s-inspired breakdancing (Fri & Sat 9pm, pictured), the return of Titled’s off-beat physical theatre (Fri 6pm & Sat 3.30pm & 6pm) and the Whalley Range All Stars’ Future exhibition (Fri – Sun 12pm – 2pm & 3pm – 5pm). And with live music in Brewery Gardens, a festival beer (A Pint for the Pig), zombies in the Westmorland Shopping Centre and a spectacular fireworks finale, the festival programme is just bursting with fantastical events to take in. Situated in the heart of the Lake District, Kendal takes just an hour and a half from Manchester city centre by train or car – see the brochure for more details.
