Next week, The White Hotel’s literary sibling venue, Impiety Hour (formerly Peste), hosts the latest instalment of its guest author series.

This time round, Austin Collings will be chatting to celebrated author, curator and gallery owner, James Birch, to launch and discuss his new book, GILBERT & GEORGE AND THE COMMUNISTS.

Following on from where Birch’s acclaimed Bacon in Moscow left off, the new release is a deeply funny first-hand account of how a self-described ‘chancer’ managed to stage a massive exhibition of provocative art by the iconic British duo amid the dying embers of the Soviet Union in Moscow.

Happening on Thu 14 May, the event offers a unique chance to hear from Birch himself about one of the most improbable moments in the history of the 20th-century art world.

Entry is free, though guests also have the option to pre-purchase GILBERT & GEORGE AND THE COMMUNISTS along with a seat reservation & complimentary beverage below.
