If you fancy venturing outside of Manchester this weekend (or next) for something new and different, try Liverpool. Liverpool-based concert promoters Evol – not content with delivering Wild Beasts and Los Campesinos! to the city – have put together a special event over two weekends. FestEvol takes place this Saturday and next in the newly opened Kazimier Garden, an outdoor addition to coveted venue, plus on the Kazimier’s main stage. Liverpool’s own Clinic bring their keyboard-heavy post-punk to the headline slot this week followed by Outfit next Saturday. Manchester’s next-big-things PINS will also make a stop at the festival on their inevitable journey to the front page of NME. Chefs from the venue and local outreach cafe Melo Melo will be teaming up for a barbecue, alongside a screen print exhibition hosted by gig-poster specialist Horse.

Sat 4 Aug & Sat 11 Aug, Kazimier Garden, 32 Seel Street, Liverpool, L1 4AZ, 4pm – 3am, £10 per day (limited £15 two-day passes also available), www.thekazimier.co.uk
