Stockport’s spookiest fiesta is back from the dead as Merseyday of the Dead returns on Saturday 24 October. Head to Merseyway and Redrock for free carnival fun, a Day of the Dead parade and safe trick-or-treating for families.
Starting at Merseyway from 12pm – 3pm, families can enjoy a free spooky trail, creepy crafts, sugar skull glitter tattoo makeovers and performances from the Three Amigos. The spirits rise again at Redrock from 5pm – 7pm with an evening of safe trick-or-treating, Mexican folk dancing, games, slime-making, a Dance with the Spirits, and a spectacular Day of the Dead parade finale.
We want to see Stockport full of ghosts, ghouls, skeletons, and everything in between. It’s the perfect excuse to go all out and make a day of it.
You’re encouraged to go all out with your costumes for 2026. Whether it’s a spooky skeleton, a wicked witch, a favourite Halloween character or a Day of the Dead-inspired look, organisers say that there’s no such thing as “too much” for this year’s celebrations.

Victoria Nichol, Merseyway Centre Manager, said: “Last year’s Merseyday of the Dead was such a hit that couldn’t let it rest in peace, so we’re bringing it back for Part 2.
“We’re really looking forward to welcoming families back to Merseyway and Redrock for another Halloween celebration, with plenty of things to see, do and get involved in. From the Skullstock trail and glitter makeovers to slime, dancing and the Deadrock parade, there’s something to keep little witches, wizards, skeletons and superheroes entertained throughout the day.
“And we really want families to get into the spirit of it this year, so bring out your best costumes! We want to see Stockport full of ghosts, ghouls, skeletons, and everything in between. It’s the perfect excuse to go all out and make a day of it.
“We also want everyone to have a brilliant but safe Halloween. The safe trick-or-treat trail is always incredibly popular over at Redrock, so we’re encouraging families to arrive early. Activities are subject to availability, so arriving early will also help avoid disappointment.
The event is completely free to attend, and activities will take place while stocks last.
