Art Sheffield ft. Joseph Beuys, Sheffield Print Fair & more

Pop across the Pennines for Art Sheffield, as the steel city is taken over by two months of fun and thought-provoking exhibitions, performance, installation, publishing, film, food, talks and conversation. Kicking off this weekend, the festival explores themes such as time, work and leisure, forging connections between art and everyday life. Highlights include screenings of Arena Presents: Joseph Beuys (1987, pictured), a portrait of the prolific and hard-to-pin-down to one stye German artist, which will be on show throughout the duration of the festival alongside Beuys’ own film Economic Values (1980), a ‘subjective’ mini-bus tour of Parson Cross council estate (Site Gallery, Sat 5 Oct), an outing for classic 1970s campaigning documentary Nightcleaners (Part 1) (S1 Artspace, Sun 6 Oct), Victoria Lucas’ residency at soon-to-be-demolished Castle Market (Mon 7 Oct – Wed 6 Nov), Work! Work! Work!, an organised sporting event for artists (Prime Mover, Granton Works, Sat 19 Oct) and Sheffield Print Fair (Sat 16 Nov).
