Columns, a new one-night-only music festival, will take place at Manchester Cathedral this November. Headlined by Baltimore synth-pop band Future Islands, infamous thanks in part to lead singer Sam Herring’s bizarre dancing on the Letterman show (below), the event also features Zola Jesus, the Russian-American singer whose music features a mixture of electronic, industrial and goth influences. Elsewhere on the bill is East India Youth (aka William Doyle) – an indie-tronica artist from Bournemouth who released his debut album earlier this year – plus Cousin Marnie, Rosie Lowe and Hockeysmith.
Sat 1 Nov, Manchester Cathedral, Victoria Street, M3 1SX, 6pm – 12am, £22, www.columnsfestival.com
