Real Lies are a band who hail from London, whose few releases have already received critical acclaim (check out World Peace, below, and Deeper). Their sound is sleek indie-dance with lashings of Balearic touches and infectious drum kicks; reminiscent of New Order but with added synths that are enough to make you erupt (you’ll know what we mean if you’ve heard World Peace). Real Lies’ music is born out of three friends (Tom, Kev and Pat, though they like being referred to by their initials, TW, KK and PK) making music the mornings after throwing weekend-long benders. Their lyrics connect with today’s youth and is a nod towards their dislike for gentrification; escapism through music. Their alternating spoken-word and dreamy vocals tell euphoric tales and inspire the listener to groove towards a night with infinite possibilities.
