The Dockyard comes to town
Manchester’s Pub of the Year, The Dockyard, has opened up a second branch in the city centre. The Media City stalwart has its new home in the former Cafe Rouge site on the Leftbank in Spinningfields, overlooking the River Irwell. Burgers, butties and snacks like sweet potato fries with Korean spicy dipping sauce make up the hearty menu, but it’s the beer list that’s most impressive and features some of the city’s favourite brewers – Shindigger, First Chop and Runaway to name a few.

Gaucho opens new bar
Argentine steakhouse Gaucho has launched a lavish new bar area at its Deansgate restaurant, with a massive drinks list celebrating cocktails from the region. Inspired by the country’s booming drinks culture during the time of America’s prohibition, the menu features Argentinian classics, like negronis, as well as cocktails that are currently whipping up a storm in Buenos Aires. One of which is Bon Voyage, made with Argentinian gin, vanilla liqueur, pomegranate syrup and fresh grapefruit juice – perfect for a lovely spring day.

Seven Bro7hers brewery (pictured) to open bar in Ancoats
The popularity of craft beer just keeps on growing and Salford’s own Seven Bro7hers are adding to the buzz with their own dedicated bar in Ancoats. The siblings (yes, there are seven of them) grew up with their dad brewing beer in their house, and since then have educated themselves on all things crafty. They now have four beers in production at their Salford-based brewery, including an Indian pale ale and a porter stout, and have recently landed a deal with Tesco.
