Tickets for this year’s Independent Manchester Beer Convention have nearly sold out – but at the time of writing there were tickets still available for Thursday evening, Friday day and Sunday day. The four-day event will take place in October, in the majestic setting of Victoria Baths. If it sounds like something only for tweedy Camra men, fear not: it’s organised by the folks behind hip NQ bars Common and the Port Street Beer House. Craft breweries from around the world will be showcasing a total of 200 different beers in six dedicated tasting rooms. As no one can be expected to drink on an empty stomach, several artisan food and drink vendors will be present, including Almost Famous, Diamond Dogs and North Tea Power. Panel talks and live music round out the event’s packed calendar. This year’s convention is set to be the biggest so far, with 6,000 visitors expected over the four days.
Thu 8 – Sun 11 Oct, Victoria Baths, Hathersage Road, Manchester, M13 0FE, Opening times vary by day, £8 – £13 (£50 full event pass), www.indymanbeercon.co.uk
