Shebeen Takeover at Blackjack Beers
Whilst you’ll need tickets for the Sham Bodie summer party on Friday, there’s still plenty on the agenda for the Shebeen takeover at Blackjack this weekend that’s free – or, because of a charity angle, will only ask for a small donation. Saturday sees a Nepal Earthquake Benefit with live bands including Sex Hands, BÊTE, Young War, Jo Dudderidge, DJ Jeff O’Toole, street food from Saigon Mcr and Diddakoi and a pop-up market selling arts and crafts, whilst on Sunday Mughli and Love From The Streets team up for a special one-off collab.

Summer Party at Hulme Community Garden Centre (pictured)
Join Hulme Community Garden Centre for their annual summer party, featuring live music from the likes of Quaintest Show on Earth, Clockwork Radio, Fitch and The Moon and Gnarled Tongues, plus free craft workshops between 1pm and 4pm including corn dolly making, willow craft and tile painting. As well as this, there’s also plenty of food, cakes, arts, stalls, plants and, better yet, tonnes of Moss Cider to get down your neck.

12 Nights at The Cutting Room Square
As part of the MSC Festival of Arts, The Manchester Shakespeare Company cast will take theatre out into the open air on Saturday with their first ever outdoor performance. Written and directed by John Topcliff and Gina Frost, 12 Nights is a comic adaptation of Shakespeare’s much celebrated Twelfth Night, promising to be a ‘mad musical exploration of love, loss and lunacy’.

Chorlton Green Market
Chorlton Green’s famous market returns this weekend, as per bringing the people of Chorlton a rich bevy of independent stalls and live music. Alongside British pastries, locally reared meat, brownies, homemade pies and freshly-made sauces all available to snap up, local designers will also be showcasing their artisan-crafted works. Music-wise, this week sees the turn of Stretford Brass Band.
