Our favourite things about Christmas is even more food than usual – and where better to indulge in a festive spread, with plenty of tasty veggie options than the Northern Quarter’s bohemian enclave, The Blue Pig. Although the Christmas party season has nearly booked out the Northern Quarter stalwart, there are still a few spaces left for the odd party. So whether it’s a work’s do, pre-holiday catch up with friends or a family get together, there are plenty of options. The menu is a particular treat. Starters include roast baby beetroot soup, home smoked trout tart and sticky pulled pork and cranberry terrine. From the main selection, choose from lobster in a brandy and herb butter, turkey with all trimmings or roasted chestnut and blue cheese tart, while puddings include Christmas creme brulee with cranberry shortbread, chocolate and orange spring rolls and local cheeses.
