New Thai from Busaba in January
Award winning Thai restaurant Busaba, has announced it will open its Manchester branch in Exchange Square later this month. The brand new 170-cover flagship restaurant and bar will offer visitors the ultimate Thai experience. Serving classic, quality Thai food, the restaurant was inspired by the social and cultural meeting place of The Old Oriental Hotel in Bangkok and with a menu created by executive chef Jude Krit Sangsida – taught by the chef to the Thai Royal Family no less – Busaba promises to bring an entirely new level of Thai dining experience to the city.

Duke 92 moves into a tipi
Following its closure for an impressive £1 million renovation, stalwart of the Manchester bar scene Dukes 92 has taken up temporary residence in a Danish inspired tipi. In its new home overlooking the Rochdale Canal, guests will be able to hunker down under the canvas with a cockle-warming mug of glogg (Scandinavian mulled wine) whilst munching on homemade pizzas from their very own wood-fired oven. The refurb should be complete by spring with the the former stable block stripped back to the brick to reflect its industrial heritage but until then the tipi will be the perfect place to ward off those winter woes.

Chester’s Sticky Walnut to open Chorlton branch called HISPI
All we know so far is that another restaurant from the team behind the acclaimed Cheshire bistro, Sticky Walnut, headed up by mouthy chef Gary Usher is set to open in Chorlton sometime this year. The team successfully crowd funded their second restaurant, Burnt Truffle, which opened in the Wirral in 2015. If the near flawless meals we’ve enjoyed at Sticky and Burnt are anything to go by, Hispi will be one of Manchester’s key launches this year.
