Kinofilm is Manchester’s long-running festival which celebrates short films and animation. It takes place over seven days at seven venues in the city centre. Over 200 shorts in various genres and from many different countries will be showcased. The Cervantes Institute and the Anthony Burgess Foundation will be presenting some of the best short films from around Europe. At the RNCM, there will be a ‘Women in Film’ evening which will also include a debate featuring some influential ladies. 70 Oxford Street (the old Cornerhouse) will be showing iShorts – works from British newcomers to the film industry. A number of Kinofilm screenings are free, and others will cost as little as £3. All screenings will be free for unemployed people. Kinofilm takes place the week before the Manchester Film Festival, and it’s sure to be a nice starter course for that event. Please see the link below for the full programme.
