A very special photography exhibition is being held next month at Manchester Cathedral. 360/365/MCR presents panoramic images of the city, taken over the course of five years, from the vantage point of the Cathedral’s own Victorian tower. The photographer, Robert Watson, was working on behalf of a property developer, and he had to brave the heights and the weather to document the growth of the nearby building projects. Inspired by the German photographer Michael Ruetz, he began to take more artistic shots of the changing urban landscape and the weather. Watson painstakingly merged many shots together to create seamless panoramic images. These give a unique view of how Manchester has changed over the last few years. The exhibition is supported by the group behind the new 101 Embankment building, nearby.
