Extreme picnic in the city
Billed as Manchester’s original guerrilla experience, Picnics’n’Nacs is back. Eschewing food pretentiousness and snobbery, it promises to bring an unrivalled unique picnicking experience to your rug. With the location revealed on the day, the organisers are offering My Big Fat Greek Picnic this Sunday. The ticket description and Twitter details are cryptic but intriguing. Offering tickets at £60 per couple, the basket will include no less than 15 courses of Greek fine dining, plus cocktails. Oof.

Coffee cupping and beer supping at Takk
Stafford-based coffee aficionado Has Bean is hosting a coffee cupping event at Takk, showcasing 24 samples from the El Salvador range. With descriptions and tasting notes on each, the blends will then be available to buy via auction later in the week. The people behind Alphabet Brewing Company have also got involved, offering a free beer for everyone on the night. With very limited space, it’s advisable to register your free place.

Northern Quarter back street pub Abel Heywood has a new cocktail menu for the summer – offering thirst-quenchers for those balmy Manchester evenings. With staff members concocting their own, the result is an interesting list of classics and original creations. The Summer 6 collection includes the apple and elderflower mojito, summer thyme sling and a pickled celery Bloody Mary.
