This week’s food and drink news in Manchester includes 71p burgers at Hard Rock Cafe (Tue 14 Jun only), new barrel store beer tastings for Manchester Beer Week at Cloudwater Beer Co, an Asian supper club and a free talk about the healthy secrets of the Mediterranean diet at Instituto Cervantes.

Free food: Hard Rock burgers for 71p for one day only.
You can find a fading 1990s Hard Rock Cafe t-shirt in most of Manchester’s vintage shops, all wrapped up in iconic nostalgia. The legend was born in 1971 and is celebrating its 45th birthday. We’re all invited along to the party and at midday on Tue 14 June, they will be selling the Legendary Burgers for 71p, for one hour. Later on the day, paisley-pop outfit The Peace Pipers will be playing a two-hour set from 6pm, playing sunshine psych and indie rock.
Tue 14 Jun, Hard Rock Cafe Manchester, The Printworks, Exchange Square, Manchester, M4 2BS. Tel: 0161 831 6700, noon-1pm for 71p burgers, music from 6pm, www.hardrock.com

Event: Barrel store beer tasting at Cloudwater
Cloudwater Brew Co are opening up their doors in the manner of Willy Wonka for a barrel store tasting. They have large numbers of beers in barrels, maturing or souring away as we carry on with day to day life. In contrast to beers produced in steel, barrel-aged beers take on a unique life and flavour of their own. This is a Manchester Beer Week special event and the first barrel store tasting has sold out. These two new sessions includes beers and natural wines.
Wed 15 Jun, Cloudwater Brew Co, 13 Sheffield Street, Manchester, M1 2ND. Tel: 0161 661 5943, 5.30pm / 7.15pm, £15, www.eventbrite.co.uk
