Get the mood for Christmas with a lunchtime or supper treat from Manchester’s finest restaurants and street food dudes. Our top three festive eats include Northern Soul grilled cheese Christmas sandwich, a godzilla-sized festive burger from Almost Famous and the Christmas Pudding Baked Alaska at Robert Owen Brown’s new pop-up, Feast.

1. Northern Soul’s Crimbo Sandwich – £6.50
Perfect for lunch (or supper – particularly with a hangover), simply head to the stall in Albert Square or just opposite the Co-Op on Church Street in the Northern Quarter and fill your boots with a toasted sandwich. Northern Soul’s award-winning triple cheese mix is joined by turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, a little sausage and gravy in a real showstopper.

3. Feast’s Christmas Pudding Baked Alaska – £6.50
We had to include one dessert – and this one is a special one. Hand crafted by famous Mancunian chef, Robert Owen Brown at his new winter-themed pop-up restaurant, Feast, it’s a Christmas pudding packed ice cream (home made of course), swathed in a blow-torched meringue shell. Perfect sharing material.
Available from Feast, 47 King Street West, Manchester. Tel: 0161 839 1929, www.twitter.com
