Here’s one to ink in the diary: a two-day celebration of the tattooing scene. The sixth annual Tattoo Tea Party will take place this weekend at EventCity in Trafford. Over 300 specially-selected skin artists will be in attendance, ready to make their mark on you. It’s not just for old hands; it’s open to neophytes who are looking to take the plunge and get their first brand. There’ll also be body painting, for those afraid of commitment. Other vendors will be on hand selling vintage clothing, jewellery, taxidermy creatures, and even (gasp!) cakes. Embracing the carnival sideshow aspect of the culture, the festival will have illusionists and people performing feats of strength. There will even be fairground rides, including bumper cars and waltzers, at no extra cost. On stage, Pyrohex, a quartet of tattooed models will perform a choreographed show featuring flames and dance.
Sat 4 Mar – Sun 5 Mar, EventCity, Phoenix Way, Stretford, Manchester, M41 7TB, Tel: 0161 667 9718, 11am-10pm, Tickets from £16, www.tattooteaparty.com
