Book now: Pint of Science Festival at The Klondyke, Bluu, Terrace & more

Pint of Science is a festival where people can find out about more about scientific subjects in pubs and bars across Greater Manchester. For three days in May, university researchers will be talking about their work, perhaps with a pint in hand and tickets are only £4 for each each event. The festival began in 2013, and has grown rapidly, with events happening in cities all around the world. Six venues across Manchester are taking part including Didsbury’s Red Lion, Bluu and Terrace in the Northern Quarter and Levenshulme’s Klondyke, hosting several talks each. Examples include ‘Technology That Has Your Back’, at Terrace Bar, which will see scientists exploring how mass data collection from smartphones etc. can actually be a good thing in terms of healthcare while at Bluu Bar, meteorologists will be discussing extreme weather and the difficulties in predicting it. Talks are wide ranging with more than 50 to choose from including ‘Talk to Me’, at Bakerie which considers the pros and cons of a multilingual environment.
