New talent: Manchester School of Art Film Festival at HOME

Love films? Love art? A new film festival by the Manchester School of Art as part of their final Degree Show season combines the two, showcasing subjects as diverse as climate change and pets in space. The MSA (Manchester School of Art) Film Festival at HOME on Wednesday (7 Jun) features work by over 30 third-year filmmaking students, with single and collaborative pieces spanning science-fiction, contemporary cinema, period drama and animation. Highlights include I Am Flesh, a story of a woman hooked up to a factory out at sea, Molly and Lexi’s Multiverse Odyssey, an animation about a cat and dog caught in alternative dimensions, and an abstract climate change film called My Synthetic Excuse. There are two screening times: 4pm and 6pm, so settle in for an evening of entertainment. Festival tickets are on general release now via the link below. The MSA Film Festival leads up to 2017’s Manchester School of Art Degree Show, a multi-gallery end-of-year exhibition running from Sat 10 Jun to Wed 21 Jun that’s a key date in Manchester’s calendar of key art events.
