The ‘Bravado’ of blokes is the subject of a searing new show from Scottee. The Kentish Town artist is an outspoken writer and performer, probably best known for throwing cake at Rihanna on X Factor. His latest show is a memoir on maleness, looking back on his 1990’s life amid the atmosphere of working men’s and lap-dancing clubs. This is not a show for the faint-hearted – expect stories splattered with blood, abuse, spit, sex and even Oasis songs. Scottee has previously won Time Out Performer of the Year and a spot on the Independent’s Rainbow List as a key LGBTQI+ influencer. This Manchester date, with a post-show discussion after the Friday showing, is brought to the Briton’s Protection as part of HOME’s Orbit 2017 festival.
Thu 28 – Sat 30 Sep, The Briton’s Protection, 50 Great Bridgewater St, Manchester M1 5LE. Tel: 0161 200 1500, 7pm, £12.50, www.homemcr.org
