Do men or women make better expert witnesses? Does it matter what the judge had for breakfast? To find out answers to these questions and more, book your free place for this one-off day of learning at the University of Manchester this Saturday that’s all about the role of technology and visual presentation of evidence in criminal courts. Participants will get to participate in role-play during a mock trial, learn through interactive presentations and pose questions to an expert  for genuine behind-the-scenes insights. Hosted by the School of Law at the University of Manchester by Dr Reka Solymosi (pictured) and others as part of the Economic and Social Research Council, the big idea is to get non-experts interested in data visualisation and criminal courts. Lunch is also provided to all participants, which is, surely a large part of the appeal.

Sat 4 Nov, Williamson Building, University of Manchester, Oxford Road M13 9PL 10.30am-4.30pm, FREE – booking required, www.eventbrite.co.uk
