Explore the books, nooks and crannies of Chetham’s Library with a free family workshop. ‘Gestured’ is an exhibition of artworks secreted around the library (click here to read our preview). Artist collective Brass Art has hidden fabrics, blown glass objects and mysterious historical vessels amid the shelves and shadows of the 17th century building. On Saturday 25 November, bring your family for a free hands-on workshop exploring the ideas behind the installation. Join the artists for a treasure hunt in the library and its surrounding medieval buildings, and let your inner artist loose with imaginative drawing, shadow puppetry and craft activities. The workshop is suitable for all ages – under-14s, bring your adult – and you can drop in any time.
