With two long weekends to enjoy this May, a few evenings of all-night long dancing are definitely on the cards. We’ve rounded up the best of the bunch to enjoy this upcoming Bank holiday, including mastercraftsman Midland at the Refuge, Ibizan sunshine with The Mambo Brother at Lazy Lizard and Tropic of Cancer, Silent Servant and JASSS for some industrial EBM-influenced beats at The White Hotel.
Zutekh presents Midland (all night long) at The Refuge Basement
Midland aka Harry Agius has been a staple of the UK circuit building a reputation as a master mixer, working sets that keep us guessing, fluctuating between smooth lower tempo beats and something a little headier. After hitting a high with disco sampling track ‘final credits’, released in 2016, Midland’s name draws a solid fan base. Catch him in the Refuge’s basement space, bringing in the bank holiday with some soulful old-school disco, techno sounds, and just about anything in between.
Sun 6 May, The Refuge Basement, The Principal Hotel, Oxford Street, Manchester M60 7HA. Tel: 0161 233 5151, 11pm-4am, £15, www.skiddle.com
Mambo Brothers at Lazy Lizard
Christian and Alan Anadon, better known as the Mambo Brothers return to Lazy Lizard after headlining their opening session in December 2017. The sibling duo, and owners of the legendary Ibizan club, Café Mambo, have entertained huge crowds at the likes of Hï Ibiza. They’re back in Manchester to bring some Ibizan sunshine to the decks on Sunday.

Tropic of Cancer live / Silent Servant / JASSS at The White Hotel
If your tastes lean more on the moody side, The White Hotel have rounded up a selection of EBM-influenced artists, combining the sounds of industrial, synth-punk and contemporary experimental. A night of firsts – none of the artists have yet performed in Manchester – it’s a great mix. The lineup includes the ethereal music of Tropic of Cancer (side project of Camella Lobo), brooding experimental from JASSS, while Silent Servant, Sandwell District and Jealous God label owner, deals a dose of dark utilitarian techno.
Sun 6 May, The White Hotel, Unit 3, Dickinson Street, Salford, M3 7LW, 11pm – 6am, £13 – £15, www.residentadvisor.net
