Tune in to true stories at the Castle

Seldom have an event and a venue been more suited to each other than Tales of Whatever and The Castle Hotel. A collection of true tales and this down-to-earth pub in the heart of the Northern Quarter seem to go hand in hand. The emphasis of the event is very much on the informal telling of the sorts of stories a friend would spill over a pint or two. The wide variety of tales and the quality of the telling is what has made Tales of Whatever stand out as a highlight among The Castle’s spoken word fixtures. And the easy hosting style of organiser Mark Powell is a treat. Each month sees new performers joining old hands and throws up some surprises at just how interesting other people’s lives can be. This month’s speakers include Lee Moore, Jen Bailey and Martin Pearson.
