Door to door poet Rowan McCabe (pictured) has compiled a series of poems gleaned from interviews with those that live along the Bridgewater canal for this Sunday’s Bridgewater Weekender. Ice skating to pub along its frozen surface, swarms of midges, cycling, mischievous mink, and a fearless swimming rabbit all feature in this new series that looks to unlock the heart of these waterways for this free festival of family fun. Alongside McCabe’s new work join in with den building, bug hunting, boat making, pressing apples, storytelling and more as well as live music curated by local soul, folk band Honeyfeet. With the weather looking to stay as bright as it has these last few weeks and no World Cup games to distract you it’s worth taking a trip to the canalside this Sunday.
