If you’ve never had cause to visit the CFCCA in the Northern Quarter, then a free event taking place next Saturday could very well tempt you to visit. Artist Will Pham will be talking about his work and his time with an international exchange programme. London-based Pham graduated from Chelsea College of Art & Design and undertook a postgraduate degree at the Royal Academy Schools. He was awarded the ‘Breathe’ residency from the CFCCA, and visited Taipei Artist Village last year, as part of an annual exchange. Here, Pham developed new approaches to his practice concerning holistic and personal transformations as methods to address legacies of empire. He will share his experiences of his time at the Village and his ongoing research into the nature of charity. Pham will also share his experiences visiting Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and Vietnam, where he explored the interconnections between Southeast Asian histories and contemporary politics.
