We give you the lowdown on another great series of events over at Chorlton hotspot, Dulcimer. From quizzes to DJs to live music, here are five exciting events taking place this week.
Support local talent at the free Open Mic night on Wednesday night, followed by a live performance by Sam Jefferson. Jefferson’s take on blues, folk and jazz traditions have made him well known on the local scene, and for good reason: this is a storytelling master.
Music this Friday night comes from independent Manchester label, Stutter and Twitch. As well as releasing 7” singles of new funk, soul and jazz, alongside electronica and ambient remixes, Stutter and Twitch are well known for soundtracking great parties. Expect a host of funk and soul classics.
Norwegian singer-songwriter Cecilie Anna plays live at Dulcimer this Saturday night. Celebrating the release of her third record, New Bird, Ceilie Anna writes melodic, intimate songs with poignant lyrics, and this rare appearance in Manchester is not to be missed. Catch local support from Lazybones and Ben Ward. Followed by Family Affair DJs, playing funk and soul into the night.
Seamus Cowan and co. brings his monthly night of gorgeous Irish folk to the Dulcimer. Joined by Aine this month, expect intricate guitar and soothing vocal melodies. Perfect Sunday night material.
