Manchester’s very own The Birthmarks present a night packed with music at Northern Quarter venue The Peer Hat. Bringing their rock n roll flavour, they are joined by punk outfit Sniffany & The Nits, fellow Manc-based five-piece Furrowed Brow and Brighton’s Garden Centre. A fiver for four acts on a Thursday evening – what’s not to like?
American metalcore comes to Rebellion this week with Wage War headlining the stage. After the release of their latest album Pressure on Fearless Records in 2019, the Florida quintet have pushed themselves in both progression and technicality. Having toured previously with the likes of I Prevail, A Day To Remember and Parkway Drive – Wage War embark on an impressive UK headline tour to kick off 2020. Support comes from Ded and Thornhill.
Born in Yorkshire, but made in Manchester – garage-punk band Tinfoils play their biggest headline yet at Gullivers this week. With tracks like Overdraft City, The Royal Baby Machine and most recently Call of the Abyss – the trio bring their rage against the sorry state of current affairs in Britain with a particular ‘no frills’, DIY guitar-driven’ sound. Joining them on the bill will be The Feral Family, Chupa Cabra, Black Clyde & The Tube Disasters.
Taking the stage at Fuel this week are the Maddie Herbert Trio. Led by harpist Maddie Herbert, with bassist Chris Rabbitts and drummer Josh Savage – the group are set to perform an impressive mix of contemporary jazz, hip-hop and folk compositions. You’ll hear the harp played as you never have before!
DJ Shell Zenner presents a special edition of Free Vibes – a showcase of the most exciting new music around at Band on the Wall this week. Playing on the bill are indie quartet Corella, alt-pop Hi Sienna, rock n roll Little Strange, and a band who make ‘pop hits for dumb sh*ts’, Grotbags. A great mix of genres and some new bands to discover – all for free-entry!

Actor/singer/songwriter Michael Malarkey kicks off his UK headline tour in Manchester with a date at Deaf Institute. Well-known for his role as the charismatic Enzo in Vampire Diaries and fresh from recording his new album Graveracer (to be released early 2020) – the British-American artist will be performing songs new and old in his alternative indie repertoire.
