Free Oatly tea, coffee and hot chocolates and a spoken word poetry night at The Deaf Institute are among our top free things to do in Manchester this weekend.
Foo Fighters fan? Don’t miss the UK’s number one Foo Fighter’s tribute act – the Faux Fighters – at The Empire in Rochdale, performing the rock band’s greatest hits. Doors open at 6pm and admission is free before 9pm – tickets cost £3 anytime after that.
One for the techno fans – Berlin-based DJ and producer Klangkuenstler is playing at Joshua Brooks this Saturday, presented by Nacht and with support from Nathan Temple and Lucas Martin. Entry is free before 11.30pm with a pre-booked ticket.
Wind down at The Deaf Institute on Sunday night with a drink or two and some spoken word poetry from some of Manchester’s established performers. Featuring Patrick T. Davies, Leon the Pig Farmer and Thomas Ainsworth, you’re sure to see some thought-provoking stuff at this one.

Swedish oat drink maker Oatly will be in town on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 January with their pop-up coffee shop, giving away free tea and coffee made with their Oatly oat drink – skinny, semi or whole. They’re also making free hot chocolates with their new Chocolate Deluxe Oat Drink. If you’re taking part in Veganuary or just fancy a free cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate, make sure to stop by their pop-up and try this dairy alternative.
