Italian-born singer-songwriter Violetta Zironi headlines Salford’s Sacred Trinity Church this week. Blending Americana, folk, French chason-pop and enchanting vocals – Zironi’s music takes you on a journey. After the success of her debut EP Half Moon Lane in 2017, the young artist has continued to produce records most recently last year’s Hungry To Kill and now embarks on a UK/Europe Tour.
Hailing from Brighton and Antwerp, Cultdreams are sad lo-fi punks. After the release of their long-awaited second album Things That Hurt last year – they bring their shoegaze-stylings to YES as part of their UK tour. They’re joined on the night by 80’s inspired indie-pop Kermes, plus Manchester bands – noise rockers SlowHandClap and the dreamy Purple Heart Parade. A fab line-up for under a tenner!
Manchester-based band Oceans on Mars play Rebellion this Friday. The fuzz fuelled, alt-rock five piece, who bring elements of 90s grunge to their sound, have already played venues across the city – including sold out dates. They are joined on the bill by Krooked Tongue, Graceland and New Divide.
The Hubbards take the stage at Band On The Wall this week. The four piece from Hull, who take their name from their manager Joe, have a sound that is bittersweet indie. Tracks such as their latest, Seven or Eleven, give us their honest social commentary on life – in this case, the oppressive nature of mass consumerism – expect cynical lyrics with lush melodies.They will be joined by local lads Freeda.
American alternative three-piece, X Ambassadors play Gorilla as part of The Orion Tour. Originating in Itheca, New York – the line-up features brothers Sam (vocals) and Casey Harris (keys) with Adam Levin (drums). After the immense success of their debut record VHS in 2015, which spawned notable singles Jungle, Renegades and Unsteady, they’re back touring their sophomore album Orion in the UK this month.

Liverpool-based Paris Youth Foundation play Northern Quarter venue Off The Square as part of their headline tour. The alt-rock outfit, who recently released single Home Is Where The Heart Is, have been hailed as having a sound like all your fave indie bands rolled into one. Support comes from Uno Mas and Bad Love.
