A pop-up market of local artists and makers and an open response doodle night at HOME are among the best free things to do in Manchester this week.
Give The People What They Want is a silent melodrama, an absurd pastel-coloured fantasy made up of a mixture of old Hollywood cinema. Making its debut at the University of Salford this week, if you want to see something a bit different, this is the screening for you.
Wilderness Record Store’s Hit The Groove Record Club offers you the chance to listen to two renowned albums, in full, with a discussion afterwards about their differences, similarities and influences. This week, they’re listening to Scott Walker’s Scott 4 and Pulp’s His N Hers – whether you’re already a fan of one of both of these classic albums or not, this chilled out event is the perfect way to spend a Tuesday evening.
As part of the Manchester Open Exhibition 2020, exhibiting artist Akinyemi Oludele will lead a doodling session – bring along a sketchbook and pencil and get inspired by the atmosphere. Oludele will be live drawing the event as it happens, so your creative juices are sure to get flowing.
