As we move into September, local events are well and truly back underway – with a variety of indoor and outdoor events on offer to keep you busy in the city. We’ve rounded up the best free things to do in Manchester this week, including more film screenings at YES and the first ever Manchester Spanish festival.
Didsbury pub Head of Steam have a weekly speed quiz that’s completely free to enter and gives you the chance to win a bar tab! Make sure to book a table ahead of time (and only attend with members of your household and support bubble), and brush up on your general knowledge and speedy question answering.
This event is aimed at showing the pop-up cycle lanes on the A56 some love, and is suitable for all ages and abilities. How much cycling you do is optional – the group will be cycling the whole route, from Trafford Town Hall towards Sale and then into Manchester – and it’s a great way to build some confidence on your bike with a supportive bunch of people.
This free, family-friendly event will celebrate and support artisan makers from Bury, Manchester and the North West, with stalls offering crafts, art, food and drink. Spend your Sunday scouring the stalls for your next piece of art to brighten up your home, some delicious handmade sweet treats or maybe even a couple of things that’ll give you a head start on your Christmas shopping…
