As we get closer and closer to the end of the first month of 2022, there are still heaps of cracking free things to throw yourself into. From bouldering sessions to book launches to musicals—there is plenty of variety this week.
Here’s the rundown…
Fancy a mid-week injection of local live music? Look no further as GRUB’s iconic Open Mic Night is sure to deliver. Brought to you by Buzzin’ Sounds, this is a great opportunity to celebrate and support the city’s local and independent music scene.
To see six talented musicians, recline with two hours of fantastic live music, try out GRUB’s amazing street food and wash it all down with one of their independent beers—be sure to get yourself over to Red Bank and make your Wednesday the new Friday.
If you like your Young Adult Thrillers then author Cynthia Murphy’s brand-new book, WIN, LOSE, KILL, DIE is definitely going to be next on your reading list. Featuring a secondary school slasher—the tale invites readers to immerse themselves into Morton Academy and attempt to figure out who this lethal figure is.
With a wine reception, the lovely opportunity to meet the author herself and even get a copy of the book signed—be sure to head to the University Green and end the working week a little bit differently this Friday.
Hosted by 53two, be amazed by this incredible musical concert, JULIE, which follows the amazing life and times of the historical and iconic LGBTQ+ figurehead, Julie D-Aubigny. Following all her mayhem and chaotic adventures, this musical goes deep into Julie’s life covering her many escapades including burning down convents, seducing nuns and duelling men.
Set to hit the renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2022 as the headlining performance, be sure to see this production in Manchester while you still can!
Led by an experienced bouldering coach, head to Depot Climbing for an evening of socialising, learning and, obviously, climbing. Whether you’re totally new to the activity or you just want to improve your confidence on the wall, this session will cater to all abilities.
Perfect for anyone whose New Year’s resolution was to be more active, why not try out a new activity? Who knows? It could end up being a brand new hobby!
